ac3 format and play fine with any Windows-based player. and it's perfect in both in 5.1 home theater surround and in my Aeon 3.3. If I were in a position to get a new TV and audio setup I'd probably keep the Aeon 3.3. that or I'd buy the Aeon 5.1 but the network audio quality is a bit better. Hi-fi mix.
I don't normally take issue with people's opinions, but everytime somebody says "this is how I'd design it" or "that is how it should be done", I see no point to it other than trying to be right and I see it that way so I don't buy into your opinion at all, not just in terms of what format, not just audio, but in everything you do. I just see "this is how I'd do it" or "this is the best way", they aren't actions.
I'd suggest in the future that you don't voice your opinions so much, but more on-topic. Take a look at how Lousiville-TV is done, for example. It is clear where the source material is because the source material is clearly tagged on-screen as to when it ends. Your network is clearly tagged as the audio source which is exactly what it is.
It's like asking 'why is there food on this plate?' because there is food on this plate. A person does not want to build a dream house, they want a house. The food on that plate is the house. The audio is the house.
I think it depends on who is going to watch the video. If it's a family, I would like to have the option of multiple audio streams. That way my kids and I can hear different things (in the same language).
I just bought the Best F6 for sale from the VideoFairy Link. Since this is an after-market product, I would rather have it shipped straight to my front door than have to order it from elsewhere.
From the video, it appears that there is no hard cable connection. It is all wireless. That is perfect for me, as I don't have hard cables to plug in. I don't have a dedicated router, either, so that simplifies things for me.
